The Collingwood Sailing School is reviewing its procedures to ensure increased safety following an incident at the start of the weekend.
The town says that on Friday afternoon, school staff were involved in an after-hours training exercise when there was an equipment malfunction in heavy wind and waves.
OPP, Coast Guard and members of the public helped the staff.
The town says even with the experience of the instructors, one of them was taken to hospital as a precaution. He was later released with no identified injuries.
There were no students involved in the incident.
