A Wasaga Beach council committee has voted unanimously to close Beach Drive for the 2020 summer season.
Clean-up from high winds and high water levels pushing sand across the road cost about 15 thousand dollars for each of the four major events last year.
A staff report states that public works employees would need to do more frequent and daily beach raking and litter collection.
A section of temporary barrier wall would be needed to shield the Dard building from wave action. The Dard has lower units and entry doors than the other buildings on Beach Drive.
