There will be a public meeting on the future of Wasaga Beach's electric utility next month.
At Tuesday's meeting, Committee of the Whole voted in favour of recommending that council hold the meeting on May 24 at the RecPlex.
The committee is also recommending that full council approve the list of speakers for the meeting which the town says equally represents the three options to do with Wasaga Distribution.
They are a sale, a merger or status quo.
Councillors also received a presentation from Vice President of Innovative Research Group, Susan Oakes on the benefit of also conducting a phone survey.
Oakes says she recommends either a survey of 200 people with 40 questions or a 30 question survey for 300 people.
She adds that doing a random sample ensures that they end up with a survey that represents the community.
No decisions have been made on the type of survey.
