Town Page Moving Newspapers

Wasaga Beach | by Catherine Thompson
Wasaga Beach councillors are sticking with their original decision on a matter.

Wasaga Beach councillors aren't changing their minds about going in a different direction with the town news page.

At Tuesday's Committee of the Whole meeting, the vote was 5 to 2 to move the page to the Enterprise Bulletin, from the Wasaga Sun.

Councillors had asked staff to consider circulation and some other factors in the evaluation of the papers involved in the Request For Quotation process.

In the new calculations, 10 more points went to The Sun which put it in first place with 85 points. The Enterprise Bulletin remained at 82.5 points.

But costs are lowest with the EB and the majority of councillors voted to stay with the previous decision to switch to the Enterprise Bulletin.

That paper has assured staff that starting in January, when the first town page will appear, every household in Wasaga Beach will get a paper.

This was a concern of some members of the committee.
